Muhammad Khan Bhatti was born in Farrakhan Bhattian, Mandi Bahauddin, on April 12, 1968. His two brothers are Baqir Khan Bhatti and Ahmed Khan Bhatti. Sajid Ahmed Khan Bhatti, his nephew, remained a member of the Punjab Provincial Assembly from Mandi Bahauddin.
Career
He started working for the government in 1988 as a grade 7 clerk at Punjab’s Agriculture Department. In 1996, when he was in grade 11, he won a seat in the Punjab Assembly. He advanced to grade 19 swiftly after receiving promotions. He was designated as Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister on Political Affairs after Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was named Chief Minister of Punjab in 2002.
Pervaiz Elahi held the positions of Additional Secretary and Special Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat while he was the Chief Minister of Punjab. He received a promotion on March 8 and was given the position of secretary in the Punjab Assembly. Between 2008 and 2018, he was let go by the PML-N government in Punjab, but the Lahore High Court restored him. He was appointed Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Punjab on July 26, 2022. He was transferred to the Punjab Assembly on January 22, 2023.
