Noor Alam Khan ( ) is a Pakistani politician who has served in the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018. From 2008 to 2013, he was a member of the National Assembly. He was a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from 2018 to 2022, and the Pakistan Peoples Party from 2008 to 2018. (PPP).

He was one of 14 dissident PTI members sent with show-cause notices for allying with the opposition prior to Imran Khan’s no-confidence motion.

Noor Alam Khan Career

In the 2008 Pakistani general election, he was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of the Pakistan Peoples Party from Constituency NA-3 (Peshawar-III) (PPP). He was defeated by Awami National Party candidate Muhammad Hasham Babar, who garnered 27,038 votes (ANP). During his term, he was the federal parliamentary secretary for trade.

In 2012, he was designated Pakistan’s richest known member of the National Assembly, with declared assets worth more than PKR 32 billion. He owned 200 acres of valuable land in Peshawar (for PKR 160 million per acre), 11.6 million PKR in gold jewellery, two vehicles, and a residence.

In the 2013 Pakistani general election, he ran as a candidate of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) from NA-3 (Peshawar-III), coming fourth with 22,045 votes.

He was re-elected to the National Assembly as a representative of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from Constituency NA-27 in the 2018 Pakistani general election (Peshawar-I).

With 71,158 votes, he defeated Muttahida Majlis-e-Haji Amal’s Ghulam Ali (MMA). He was one of the opposition PTI legislators who stated that they would vote against Imran Khan, the party’s leader, in the motion to remove him from office.

In the end, they were not necessary to vote because the opposition coalition, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), was able to gain enough support on its own to depose Prime Minister Imran Khan on 10 April 2022.
